Tiger Lapsang Souchang Loose Leaf

Price range: £6.00 through £26.50

A tea rom the lower hills of the Wuyi Mountain range of Fujian Province in Eastern China.

This fantastic tea grows in soil that naturally gives the leaf a light tarry character; firing the tea over wood chippings enhances this further. Contrary to most perceptions of Lapsang, it is the teas with the most subtle of smoky characters (like this one) that is most sought after. This tea has a very black neat leaf and wonderfully smooth smokey character. This works extremely well as an accompaniment to chocolate cake.

Brew with freshly drawn boiled water for 3-5 minutes. Experiment with it on its own or with any variation using milk, honey and/or lemon.
